How to handle your individual feelings about The Hobbit being made into a trilogy
When it is announced that The Hobbit is going to be turned into a trilogy, it’s understandable that many, if not most, will be disappointed. Personally, I didn’t like the book as much, but that’s probably just me. The book itself is so long that it is usually hard to just sit down and read it all in one sitting.
I understand this is a completely different situation than the one when there was the possibility of a sequel to Harry Potter. There, the book was already out and proved to be a huge success, and it was possible for everyone to think about it as a standalone piece of work. This situation is different, where just a few weeks ago there was a possibility that a prequel would not be made.
What should we do if we are disappointed when the books are no longer released in a two-piece story (either because of a new prequel movie or some of the books taking place before The Hobbit – if they are released). Should we express this, and is it beneficial? For example, “I’m disappointed that it’s a trilogy, but I’m looking forward to reading the final book.” Or should we choose something different? Should we leave it at silence, or try to talk to the others about it?
There’s a youtube video of J.R.R. Tolkien reading a passage from his Hobbit, which got me thinking. He said something along the lines of,
This was the story of the quest of “The Hobbit”, written for children
and for parents, and its use in broadcasting was anticipated.
Here, he’s talking about “The Hobbit” in general, and the entire story is a part of “The Lord of the Rings”, which is Tolkien’s own attempt at the form of a myth. I think it’s safe to say that Tolkien’s books represent some sort of philosophical revelation that was meant to be taken seriously, and that his personal feeling about the story isn’t that important here. The important thing is that Tolkien intended a series of books that represented a certain perspective on Middle-earth and its characters.
It’s possible that Tolkien thought the same thing should happen with “The Hobbit”, and there’s no reason to think that he wouldn’t have used the same sort of reasoning about his own work. He didn’t, and it turns out that

Is there a single word for “someone being lucky”?
In daily life, there are many things that we don’t really need to emphasize about. For example, this doesn’t need to be emphasize that it’s difficult to get a job today.
However, in the Internet, such things should be emphasized and explained carefully. For example, I want to say “Man is very lucky to win the lottery today”. I don’t need to tell other people it is a good luck. What is a good word to use in that sentence?
This doesn’t need to be emphasized that it’s difficult to get a job today.
This wouldn’t be a good way to say it.
This is not as easy as it may seem.
You may want to say, “This is not as easy as it may seem.”
